District Six Museum, Cape Town: ‘Print Exchange commemorating 50 years since the declaration of District Six’ Theme: Leaving District Six: remembering 60 000 forced goodbyes. Project description: The vision of the District Six project is to invite 50 South African and international participants to produce new work (original graphic artwork irrespective of graphic technique or process, on a 2-dimensional surface, preferably paper) or in the form of a high resolution digital image. The collection will be of a high standard to recognise the inherent value and importance of the District Six 50th Commemoration. The boxed collection will be collated into a set of limited editions of authenticated prints or art works for the participants, for the exhibition, and for educational purposes in support of the project.
